Wheatgrass also seems to fit the dieter’s topmost requirement, that is, suppress the appetite to prevent binge eating. In addition, it also helps in regulating normal thyroid functions, boost the immune system and helps the blood carry more oxygen for cellular distribution.

Compared to other veggies, wheatgrass contains more chlorophyll, believed to reduce the risk of colon cancer.

With all these benefits you get from wheatgrass, no wonder wheatgrass juice is now being offered in many juicing bars and recipe portals everywhere. In fact, it’s a lot easier to buy fresh wheatgrass juice today than it was before.

Here’s how to do that.

Start by looking at your local health food stores or department stores for your wheatgrass supply. There’s the freshly cut wheatgrass flats, juiced and frozen, tablet and the powder form. Obviously, if you don’t have a juicer or don’t want to mess with the machine, you can either pick the powder or the ready-made frozen juice.

Wheatgrass is also a versatile product. You can consume it directly or mix it with other juices or veggie preparations. Understandably, while the taste isn’t as appealing as chocolates, but that can be managed easily. Typical mixes include carrot, apple, and cucumber extracts. You can even add honey to smoothen the taste. There’s a whole bunch of healthy greens that can be added such as alfalfa sprouts, kale, parsley, dandelion and celery.
Love garlic? Go ahead and add it!

To prevent wastage when juicing, a “masticating” juicer is needed. This type of juicer will efficiently extract the moisture from each grass, which a typical juicer simply cannot. The good news is that you can use this machine not only with wheatgrass but to some other popular vegetables as well.

While wheatgrass provides all the benefits to create well-being, don’t be so hard on it. Drinking too much of this juice on an empty stomach will result to nausea or stomach upset. Drink only up to 4 glasses each day. If you think you have a sensitive stomach, drink only 1 glass of it each day. You also need to space out if you are planning to consume more than 1 glass to avoid stomach reactions.
